Split King vs Split-Top King

A split king separates the sleep surfaces along the full mattress length. A split-top king separates only the upper portion, keeping the lower section joined.

Full split

Provides the greatest physical independence and works naturally with separately articulating sides, but leaves a center separation from head to foot.

Split top

Allows more independent upper-body positioning while preserving a joined lower sleep surface. Bedding compatibility deserves attention because the shape is less conventional.

Airpedic sizing

Airpedic currently lists both split and split-top configurations in its size navigation. Verify the exact dimensions and base compatibility for the model you choose.
